Stefan Bajcetic drops Liverpool future hint ahead of La Liga debut

Stefan Bajcetic Joins Las Palmas on Loan from Liverpool

Stefan Bajcetic has embarked on a new journey in his football career by signing a loan deal with Las Palmas from Liverpool until the end of the 2024/25 season. This move comes after Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, initially loaned the Spanish U21 international to RB Salzburg at the beginning of the season. However, Bajcetic faced challenges in gaining playing time at Salzburg, prompting Liverpool to change his loan destination.

Transition to Las Palmas

Amid interest from various La Liga clubs, Las Palmas swiftly engaged in negotiations with Liverpool to secure a six-month loan agreement for Bajcetic. Despite starting his football journey in the Celta Vigo academy, Bajcetic did not feature for the first team before joining Liverpool at a young age.

Debut in La Liga

Bajcetic is set to make his La Liga debut as Las Palmas faces Girona, aiming to improve their position in the league and avoid relegation. Speaking about his move, Bajcetic expressed optimism about his time at Las Palmas, citing the team’s style of play and the confidence instilled in him by coach Diego Martínez.

Future Plans and Return to Liverpool

While Bajcetic’s contract with Liverpool extends until 2027, his role in the team under Arne Slot remains uncertain, with established midfielders like Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister. The 20-year-old looks forward to returning to Liverpool in the summer and emphasizes that his current stint with Las Palmas is a temporary loan. However, he remains open to the idea of playing in Spain in the future.
