Sergio Reguilon to Cancel Tottenham Contract for La Liga Return
Sergio Reguilon Ready to Cancel Tottenham Contract for January Exit
Spain international Sergio Reguilon is reportedly ready to cancel his Tottenham contract in order to secure a move in the January transfer window. Reguilon has fallen out of favor at the North London club after returning from loan spells at Manchester United and Brentford last season.
Despite his return, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has not given the 27-year-old any playing time this season and Reguilon is eager to leave at the start of 2025. With his contract set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season, Spurs are not looking to renew it and are willing to offload him in January.
Interest from Sevilla and Getafe
According to reports, Reguilon has asked Tottenham to release him at the beginning of the year, with Sevilla and Getafe showing interest in the player. Given that neither club is likely to pay a transfer fee for the defender, a contract cancellation may be the most viable option to facilitate a move and potentially reduce his salary.
