This comes after Munuera was temporarily suspended by the Referees Committee (CTA) and UEFA pending the outcome of the investigation, which lasted less than 48 hours.

Referee Munuera came under fire over the weekend after controversially sending off Jude Bellingham for dissent and failing to award any penalty appeals during a match. His decisions drew criticism from players, coaches, and the media, sparking a heated debate in the football community.
Investigation into Munuera’s Business Activities
It was revealed that Munuera’s business, Talentus Sports Speakers, was under investigation for potential conflicts of interest. Allegations suggested that his company provided consultancy services to various sporting institutions, including La Liga, the RFEF, Aston Villa, and Manchester City. Munuera vehemently denied these claims in a detailed interview, urging an end to the harassment he and his family were facing.
RFEF Clears Munuera of Wrongdoing
After a thorough investigation by the Compliance Department, it has been determined that there is no conflict of interest in Munuera’s business dealings. Lawyer Nefer Ruiz found no evidence of any real or potential conflicts after reviewing the company’s registration, accounting practices, and commercial activities in collaboration with Munuera.
Return to Officiating
With the investigation concluded, Munuera is now cleared to resume refereeing both domestically and internationally. The RFEF has informed professional referees to carefully assess their external business activities to prevent any conflicts of interest that could harm their reputation. Additional monitoring measures may be implemented to ensure transparency and compliance among officials.
It was clarified that the confusion arose due to Munuera’s business partner’s connections to sporting institutions through a separate business registered at the same location. The RFEF is committed to upholding ethical standards and maintaining the integrity of refereeing in Spanish football.
