Kylian Mbappe drops harassment lawsuit against PSG

Kylian Mbappe Drops Lawsuit Against PSG
Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has decided to drop a lawsuit against his former club Paris Saint-Germain. The Frenchman has multiple ongoing cases against PSG, but has chosen not to pursue a case for extortion and harassment. According to L’Equipe, Mbappe has made this decision due to PSG’s actions during negotiations for a two-year contract extension in 2022. Before signing the new deal, PSG had exiled Mbappe from the first team, had him training alone during preseason, and left him out of a preseason tour.
Mbappe Pursues Unpaid Wages
Although Mbappe has dropped the lawsuit, he is still pursuing unpaid wages from the final three months of his PSG contract. The 26-year-old claims he is owed €55m in unpaid salary, while PSG argues that he verbally agreed not to leave the club for free, justifying their actions.

Mbappe to Face PSG for the First Time Since Move to Real Madrid
Since joining Real Madrid, both Mbappe’s new club and PSG have experienced changes in their fortunes. Real Madrid went from champions of Europe to beaten quarter-finalists, while PSG went from beaten semi-finalists to champions under Luis Enrique. With tensions between PSG’s hierarchy and Mbappe, this upcoming match will be the first time he faces PSG since his AS Monaco days as a teenager. Despite this, Mbappe has expressed that his relations with the rest of the club and fans remain positive.
Mbappe will be eager to prove himself against his former club and may need approval from Xabi Alonso for his first start in the tournament. With an alternative in Gonzalo Garcia Torres, who is the joint-top scorer at the Club World Cup, Alonso may consider using Mbappe as an impact substitute, especially since he has come off the bench in the last two games.
