Spain Manager Luis de la Fuente Provides Update on Mikel Oyarzabal’s Injury
Following Spain’s 0-0 draw against Serbia in the UEFA Nations League, Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has shared a concerning injury update on Mikel Oyarzabal.
Injury Update
Oyarzabal, who came on as a second-half substitute in the match, suffered a serious-looking injury in the closing minutes of the game. The Real Sociedad captain was eventually stretchered off the field and left the Red Star Stadium on crutches.
De la Fuente has confirmed that Oyarzabal has suffered a bad ankle sprain and will undergo further tests to determine the extent of the damage. As a result, Oyarzabal is set to miss Spain’s upcoming trip to Switzerland.
Recovery Process
Following the assessment of his injury, Oyarzabal will return to San Sebastian, where his club will provide updates on his recovery process. The 27-year-old’s availability for future matches will depend on the outcome of these tests.
Despite the setback, the Spanish national team will have to cope without Oyarzabal for the time being as they navigate through the UEFA Nations League fixtures.
