Controversial Date Set for Barcelona-Osasuna Match

Controversial date given for rearranged Barcelona-Osasuna clash

Barcelona’s Clash with Osasuna Postponed

Recently, Barcelona’s home match against Osasuna at Montjuic was postponed following the tragic passing of Dr. Carles Minarro Garcia. The rescheduled fixture, however, poses a challenge for the Catalan club.

Fixture Date Controversy

La Liga has announced that the match will now take place on Thursday, March 27th, just after the international break. This scheduling could potentially leave Barcelona without key players like Raphinha and Ronald Araujo due to their international commitments.

International Commitments

Raphinha is set to play for Brazil against Argentina, with a match scheduled for 01:00 CEST on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, Araujo will be representing Uruguay in a game against Bolivia, kicking off at 21:00 CEST on Tuesday night. The timing of Barcelona’s match with Osasuna could pose significant challenges for these players.

Rescheduling Concerns

Barcelona reportedly expressed their desire to avoid this date due to the potential player absences, advocating for a fixture on May 21st instead. It is anticipated that the club will formally request a change in the fixture date.
