Barcelona to Discuss Future with Flick’s La Masia Grad

Barcelona plan future talks with Hansi Flick's latest La Masia graduate

Barcelona’s Rising Talent from La Masia Academy

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is looking to tap into the rich pool of young talent coming out of the renowned La Masia academy as the team gears up for preseason activities.

Following a summer without any major tournaments, Flick’s squad is back in training and preparing to jet off to Japan for their preseason tour.

Since joining the club in 2024, Flick has witnessed a resurgence of talent from La Masia, with Lamine Yamal being a standout performer.

Now, Flick is turning his attention to 18-year-old Malian winger Ibrahim Diarra, who has been making waves since his arrival at Barcelona last summer.

Despite already impressing with the B team and training with the first team in the previous season, Diarra’s role is set to expand further under Flick’s guidance.

Reports suggest that Barcelona is deliberating on the next steps in Diarra’s development, especially after his success in winning the UEFA Youth League in 2025.

Flick’s Preseason Strategy for Ibrahim Diarra

While Flick is still weighing the decision of including Diarra in the traveling squad, the recent signing of Roony Bardhji has added complexity to his path to the first team.

Despite Diarra’s evident potential, Barcelona is reportedly entertaining offers for the young winger and considering whether a loan or a permanent sale would be the best option for his development.

Flick leans towards a loan move, preferably within La Liga, to closely monitor Diarra’s progress and ensure his continued growth within the Barcelona setup.

In the event of a sale, Barcelona will include a buyback clause and a percentage from any future transfer, a strategy that has been utilized in recent player departures.

Barcelona’s 2025/26 Preseason Tour Schedule

Barcelona’s preseason activities for the upcoming season will kick off in Japan, with the team set to start training on July 24th.

The first friendly match of the tour will see Barcelona facing Japanese side Vissel Kobe on July 27th, followed by a match against FC Seoul in South Korea on July 31st.

The tour will conclude with a final match against Daegu FC on August 4th, providing Flick and his team valuable preparation ahead of the new season.
