Atletico Madrid Nears Ninth Summer Signing!

Atletico Madrid’s Record-Smashing Summer Spending Spree
Atletico Madrid is set to make waves in the upcoming 2025/26 season with a series of high-profile transfers. Manager Diego Simeone has been given a substantial transfer budget to bolster the squad and mount a serious challenge against traditional powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid.
After finishing third in La Liga last season, Atletico Madrid is determined to change their fortunes under Simeone’s leadership. Captain Koke has urged the revamped squad to aim for the top spot in the upcoming season.
Breaking the €100m Mark in Transfers
Simeone has wasted no time in revamping the squad, spending an estimated €155m on eight transfers this summer. The club has made significant investments in new talent, with only €16m coming in from outgoing players. Defensive duo Marc Pubill and David Hancko are among the latest additions, along with midfielders Alex Baena, Thiago Almada, and Johnny Cardoso.
Additionally, the loan move of Rodrigo De Paul to Inter Miami is set to bring in €15m if the MLS side exercises their purchase option. Italian defender Matteo Ruggeri, along with the permanent signings of Clement Lenglet and Juan Musso, further strengthen the squad.
Stuttgart’s Enzo Millot Set to Join Atletico Madrid
While Simeone is not known for extravagant spending, the club is in negotiations to secure the services of Enzo Millot from Stuttgart. The Bundesliga side has given Millot permission to finalize his move to Madrid, with Atletico set to pay his €20m release clause.

Millot’s impressive performance, scoring 12 goals last season, has caught the attention of Atletico Madrid. The club is eager to integrate the talented 23-year-old midfielder into their squad.
As Atletico Madrid prepares for their preseason fixtures, including a match against Porto on August 3, fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the league season on August 17 against Espanyol. With a revamped squad and significant investments in new talent, Atletico Madrid is poised to make a strong statement in the upcoming season.
